Week 27 and the start of the third trimester has not been very good for me. It started last Thursday night when I had a bad night’s sleep and woke up feeling rubbish the next day. I had no energy and just kept on coughing and spluttering all the time. I managed to get to work on Friday and put a brave face on it but I was not feeling good. I stayed in on Friday night and had an early night hoping to be better the next day.
On Saturday, I woke up and felt even worse than I had before. I tried to do a few of the jobs I had to do at home but in the end I went back on the sofa and rested. I was taking paracetamol but it was not doing a thing. It was then that I realised I had not felt the baby move very much since Wednesday night. I had been sick quite a bit and I was concerned that I was not getting enough of anything to the baby. I called our local hospital who have a maternity day assessment in a bit of a panic (translated to emotional crying pregnant lady who I do not think made a lot of sense) and was told to come straight in.
We arrived and the first thing they did was check the baby. I was not pregnant enough at the time to be attached to a foetal monitor ( you have to be 28 weeks – I am 28 weeks today) so they had to find the heartbeat with a Doppler device. It took two or three attempts before they found the heartbeat but it was there and it was strong. Baby was fine. A massive weight was lifted of my mind. They checked me over and I was told that I probably had some sort of infection. The midwife’s called a doctor and we waited until one was available to come and see me.
After a little while, a doctor came over to see me and listened to my chest. She thought I had a chest infection and she prescribed some antibiotics to help clear it up. I was also advised to drink lots of water and rest. I spent the rest of the weekend doing this. I still felt awful on Sunday and ended up sleeping lots. I had a day off on Monday anyway so I used this as a duvet day and by Monday afternoon, the antibiotics had kicked in and I started feeling my normal self again. If this had happened and I was not pregnant, I would of just taken some Night Nurse and had a couple of early nights and felt much better. Paracetamol does not cure everything unfortunately.
I am hoping that this is my last illness of the pregnancy. I have 8 weeks left at work until maternity leave starts and I have lots of things to do before I hand over to my cover position. We also have some more sorting/decorating of the house to do before baby arrives so I hope the rest of the third trimester progresses smoothly and I can just get on with things at a slight slower pace than normal. *Fingers Crossed!!*
I hope everyone else who is pregnant at the moment is feeling good and not sick like I was. If you are ill, please say hello and even if you are not ill, please say hello anyway, I would love to meet you 🙂

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. I have been really busy at work and we have started sorting out the house for the new arrival so I have not had much time for blogging. Whenever I have had a chance to put my feet up, I have used it as now my bump is getting bigger, I am finding it slightly harder and more uncomfortable to get around.
Over the last few weeks, I have generally been OK. People keep on telling me I am blooming but it does not always feel that way. One minor problem I have had is a water infection (sorry if TMI) which led to a few painful uncomfortable days but I am much better now. I would like to thank the wonderful @birthaffinity, @wholesomecook, @louisesims, @cafebebe for all their advice, help and support. You guys are great! 🙂
At the moment the heat is driving me bonkers. It is just simply too hot and humid. I cannot escape it anywhere. I am not usually one to complain about us actually having a British summer time, but I just simply feel like I am melting. I am enjoying pregnancy yoga and intend to keep that up for the rest of pregnancy and hopefully beyond too. I have brought a birthing ball and have found it works wonders for my back. I highly recommend them to any pregnant ladies out there.
Hope you have a lovely week. I will be back soon with another post 🙂
PS: I have done a review of the HotMilk Blaze Nursing bra. Please check it out here on Bras 4 Mum’s.
PPS: I have also done another diary entry for Bras 4 Mums too. You can find it here.

Bump and I at Old Hills Common, Worcestershire over the weekend 🙂
What do you normally think of when you think of maternity clothes? Frumpy, flowery, unattractive, tent like or boring possibly. Well, maternity clothes have improved a lot in recent years but some clothes manufacturers still think that women want to hide their bumps, not show them off. I am 24 weeks pregnant now and I love my showing my Bump off, especially when I go out for special occasions.
I have been lucky when it has comes to maternity wear as I have a blog sponsor in the form of Lush Mummy. Lush Mummy was set up by Amy and Anna, two sisters who work in the City of London who both got pregnant and then could not find anything to wear that they liked, that was suitable for in the office. As they originally came from Korea and already had clothes brought over from there for them. They started ordering maternity/breastfeeding clothes for themselves and their friends too and this is how Lush Mummy got started.
I have been wearing their clothes now for a couple of months and I have been very impressed with the quality, the style and the price. My absolute favourite item is the Diamond Dress in black. I love it! I have been looking for a proper little black dress for years and have finally one. I would wear it if it I was not pregnant as the fit is that good. I feel fabulous in it. I highly recommend it!
The second dress I have been wearing is the Peachy Orange dress. I wore this during the day at my friend Ali’s wedding in Somerset, a week and half ago. I changed into the Diamond dress on the evening as it is more suitable for partying. The peachy orange dress is good quality but the cut is larger than the diamond dress so more suitable for bigger bumps than mine currently is. It was slightly on the large size for me but no one could tell and I got lots of lovely compliments for it. I am sure it will look great as my bump gets bigger throughout the rest of the summer.
The third item I have been sent is the Pandora maternity/breastfeeding top. This top goes well with jeans, trousers or leggings and has a stretchy band that goes around the waist showing your bump off really well. It has discrete zips for breastfeeding that are well hidden under a floaty material layer at the top. This top will last you throughout pregnancy and beyond. I really like the top, although it took a bit of getting used too as I do not really wear floaty material things. I love how it shows the bump off though and cannot wait for the next chance I get to wear it!
Thank you to Amy and Anna for sending me these lovely clothes. It is much appreciated 🙂
This is how I have been rocking my bump. Please come and tell me how you have been rocking yours 🙂
PS: If you like cupcakes, you must enter the competition I am having on Jo’s Kitchen. You can win a cupcakes class with Cupcakes By Chrissie. How fabulous is that!

Hello everyone. Sorry for the lots of photo posts recently. Bump, Stuart and I sneaked a holiday to Majorca last week. We had a fantastic time and for the first time in ages, I actually felt the right temperature. I have been feeling warm for months and over there, it did not matter as it was warmer anyway. It wad great. Bump is doing lots of moving and growing, which I love. Its like having a little friend with you all the time. I am generally loving being pregnant at the moment, except at the start of this week, I pulled a muscle in my back and I brought a bug off holiday with me too.
I am feeling much better now but at the start of the week, I felt awful and all you can take is paracetamol. Paracetamol does not cure all illnesses. I wish it did. I have started pregnancy yoga and did my second session on Wednesday. It sorted me out and made me feel really good about myself again. I love it.
For the first time in a while, I actually felt confident about my body while I was on holiday. The last couple of years I have felt that I have had a bit too much weight on me, but this year it did not matter. It’s a great feeling and one I do not have very often. I brought this costume from Bras 4 Mum’s and I love it. It was featured in Mother & Baby this month too.
This weekend is another busy one. I am hoping it calms down soon so we can start sorting out the nursery. Tomorrow, Bump and I are going to a cupcake class with Cupcakes by Chrissie and on Sunday, my friend Ali is getting married and I will be wearing this lovely dress from Lush Mummy.
Hope you all have a great weekend 🙂

While we were in London, we took Bump to Harrods as it was a rainy day. Here are a few photos from our time there. 🙂
Bump, we would love to buy you all these things but unless we win the lottery, that will not be happening. Hope you will understand. We did buy you a Harrod’s bib so at least you have one thing from there. Love Mummy and Daddy x
In one of the pictures above, I am wearing a fabulous Pandora maternity/breastfeeding top from City Lush Mummy. Those clothes are fantastic and make you look amazing unlike some maternity clothes on the market. I will be doing a more detailed post about them in the future and how their clothes have transformed me into a Lush Mummy!
We had a lovely time in London and we hope you all enjoyed our adventures too! 🙂

A couple of weeks ago, Bump and I with Daddy had a weekend away in London. Bump was quite busy while it was there as you can see from these photos. 🙂
