Product Review: Hotel Chocolat The Jewellery Box

With my first Mother’s Day coming up this week, I jumped at the chance to try some Mother’s Day chocolate from Hotel Chocolat. I received The Jewellery Boxย  which contains 10 chocolates in the following flavours, pralines in milk and dark chocolate, berry mousse and Billionaire Shortbread. The box also contains a mirror and two compartments and can be reused as a jewellery box afterwards.

On first impressions, I was very impressed with the jewellery box. It was very pretty and well made. I was slightly disappointed when I opened the box though as instead of lovely chocolate looking at me, I had boring brown paper wrapped chocolates instead. Once you opened these packages, you found the beautiful chocolates inside. I can see why they need to seal them up but the idea of a jewellery box in my opinion is for it to hold pretty things in and this when it was first opened did not. I enjoyed the berry mousse chocolates as it was refreshing and zingy. I also liked the Billionaire Shortbread as it was rich and worked perfectly the milk chocolate.

Many thanks to Beth at Jam and Cream PR and Hotel Chocolat for sending me the chocolates to review ๐Ÿ™‚

Product Review: Hipp Organic Baby Food

I recently received a selection of Hipp Organic baby food to review. As Thomas is not quite ready for weaning yet (although it won’t be long!), I gave the products to my neighbour and her 6 month old daughter to review.

They were very impressed with all the products. The daughter’s favourites were the breakfast cereals and porridge. She also liked most of the pots of food. However she did pull a funny face whenever she was given a fruit pot as I think it was a bit sharp for her. After she had a couple of spoonfuls, she did get used to the taste a bit but still did not like them as much as the others.

Many thanksย  to Jodi for sending us the baby food to review

Thomas’ First Calendar

Just after Thomas was born, we were lucky enough to recieve a Baby’s First Calender. This is similar to a traditional baby book, but in calendar form that is suitable to go in your baby’s room. The calendar comes with a handy room thermometer and lots of stickers including first smile, first tooth, immunisations and other baby first events.

This calendar will probably never replace the traditional baby book, however it is very useful for extremely tired parents to use when important milestones happen and you do not have the energy to fill in the book. Family and friends can also see the calendar very easily too.

I am looking forward to adding more events as Thomas starts doing more and more things. Many thanks to Danny for sending us the calendar to review ๐Ÿ™‚

Product Review: Natureshop’s Baby Range

When I was pregnant, I was approached by Nature Shop and asked if I would like to try some items from their baby range. As I did not know whether Thomas was a girl or a boy, I chose a couple of neutral items and they were a sleeping grown and a hooded towel. I am very impressed with both items.

They are made using organic cotton and are excellent quality. The hooded towel is the best one we have got. It is the thickest and put the normal thin baby towels to shame. The sleeping grown is lovely and yet again, feels very high quality. Despite it is being neutral, I think the sleeping grown is slightly feminine for a boy but that is just me being really picky if I am honest. There are other colours available which are better for boys. I cannot wait until I get 5 minutes and can order Thomas a few more goodies from Nature Shop.

Many thanks to Katarina for sending me the items to review ๐Ÿ™‚

Thomas’s First Book from DIY Storytime

Thomas has recently received his first book from DIY Storytime. Using the website you can create a personalised book for your child including such details as their name, eye and hair colour, who you are and another special person. It is very quick and easy to do and within 10 minutes you can have the book ordered. DIY Storytime make traditional hardback and paperback books but they will also send you a version of the book suitable for use on the Ipad.

The images included on this post are images extracted from the PDF copy of the book I received within 10 minutes of ordering the book. When the book arrived, a couple of days later, I was very impressed with the quality of the printing. Everything is very clear and the illustrations are amazing. I am sure this will be a book that Thomas will treasure for years to come. I just hope he likes the dedication in the book from his Mommy and Daddy!

Many thanks to Jayne for allowing me to create Thomas’s first book to review ๐Ÿ™‚
